Microsoft Teams Direct Routing

Microsoft Teams Direct Routing enables enterprises to connect their Teams deployment and contact centers or legacy voice platforms to the PSTN or SIP trunk providers via a certified session border controller (SBC). Customers implementing Teams Direct Routing can either use their Service Provider's SIP Trunk or IP-PBX or they can adopt a bring-your-own-carrier (BYOC) approach to benefit from existing customer-carrier agreements. It also facilitates co-existence with legacy voice, UC and Contact Center platforms as enterprises migrate to cloud-based solutions. Once onboarded, you can perform actions on your M365 tenant from Live Platform such as:

Apply Teams Calling policies to individual M365 tenant users
Configure Online Voice Routing Policies
Apply LifeCycle Management templates to Azure Security groups
Add new SIP Connections to SIP trunk or IP-PBX
Manage LBR Network topology

The figure below illustrates the Live Platform topology.
